Net Zero Communities (NZC)

NZC project targeting thousands of municipalities in the region. Its goal is to support the transformation of cities and municipalities into modern, carbon-neutral communities. NZC enables customized technology solutions, product bundling and financing. Renewable energy sources, smart management systems and e-mobility infrastructure customized by IDH partners are key components of the project. NZC is implementing microgrid technology to manage the flow of energy between local producers, such as solar farms, and consumers. Excess energy can be sold or transferred to other community members. Photovoltaic installations, combined with energy storage, allow renewable energy to be stored and used during peak hours. Such solutions increase independence from external suppliers and can generate additional income for local communities.

​One of the pillars of the project is electromobility. Electric cars, supported by an extensive charging infrastructure, are becoming a daily reality, enabling residents to enjoy free and eco-friendly mobility. Additionally, hydrogen technologies play a key role. The production and use of green hydrogen, generated from surplus renewable energy, allow for powering both homes and transportation.
